StageX ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by 16515924 Canada Inc., a corporation federally incorporated under the laws of Canada with its principal place of business in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the StageX application and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: email address, username, display name, profile images (avatar and header), and biography text.
- Content Data: videos, audio files, images, cover art, and text you upload to the Platform.
- Payment Information: when you subscribe to creators or purchase platform passes, payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. StageX does not directly store your payment card numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive financial information. We receive from Stripe limited information such as the last four digits of your card, card type, and billing country for transaction record purposes.
- Communications: messages or inquiries you send to us via email or in-app support.
- Creator Payout Information: if you are a creator receiving payouts, Stripe may collect additional identity verification information (such as government-issued ID and tax identification numbers) as required by applicable law. This information is collected and stored by Stripe, not by StageX.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: pages and content viewed, interactions with the Platform (likes, comments, follows, subscriptions), viewing duration, and engagement metrics.
- Device Information: device type, operating system and version, app version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Log Data: IP addresses, access times, referring URLs, and pages visited.
- Streaming Data: video and audio playback data including watch time, quality settings, and buffering events, used to optimize content delivery and enforce daily viewing limits for free-tier users.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Authentication providers: we use Amazon Cognito for identity management and may receive your email address and authentication tokens.
- Payment processor: Stripe may provide us with limited transaction data, subscription status, and payout information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information for the following purposes:
- Providing the Platform: to operate, maintain, and deliver the features and functionality of the Platform, including content hosting, streaming, and delivery.
- Account Management: to create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and provide customer support.
- Transactions: to process subscriptions, platform pass purchases, and creator payouts.
- Personalization: to personalize your experience, including content recommendations and discovery features.
- Communication: to send you service-related communications including security alerts, account notifications, payout notifications, and customer support responses.
- Usage Enforcement: to enforce daily viewing limits for free-tier users, monthly upload limits, and platform pass entitlements.
- Safety & Security: to detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity, and to protect the rights and safety of our users and third parties.
- Analytics & Improvement: to monitor and analyze trends, usage patterns, and activities in connection with the Platform for the purpose of improving functionality, performance, and user experience.
- Legal Compliance: to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Service Providers: we share information with third-party service providers that process data on our behalf, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Cognito, Stripe, and Apple.
- With Other Users: your public profile information (username, display name, avatar, bio, and public content) is visible to other users of the Platform.
- For Legal Reasons: we may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of StageX, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as a business asset.
- With Your Consent: we may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
4. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: we retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services.
- Account Deletion: upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within thirty (30) days, except where required by law (up to seven years for financial records) or where content has been shared with others.
- Copyright Records: records of copyright notices are retained for a minimum of six (6) months as required by the Copyright Act (Canada).
- Backup Systems: deleted data may persist in encrypted backup systems for up to ninety (90) days before being permanently removed.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL
- Encryption of data at rest using AES-256 encryption on AWS
- Authentication via Amazon Cognito with secure token management
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
- Regular security assessments of our infrastructure and service providers
No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Your Rights & Choices
6.1 All Users
- Access: you may request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: you may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Deletion: you may delete your account and associated data through the App settings or by contacting us.
- Data Portability: you may request a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Objection: you may object to certain processing of your personal data.
6.2 Additional Rights for EU/EEA/UK Users (GDPR / UK GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
- Right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
- Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
6.3 Additional Rights for California Users (CCPA/CPRA)
- Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about you.
- Right to delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to opt-out of sale — we do not sell your personal information.

6.4 Additional Rights for Brazilian Users (LGPD)
If you are located in Brazil, you have rights under the LGPD, including the right to access, correct, anonymize, block, or delete unnecessary or excessive personal data.

7. Children's Privacy
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen (13) years of age. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.
- Users aged 13–17 may use the Platform with parental consent.
- Parents or legal guardians who become aware that their child has provided personal information without their consent may contact us at stagex.tv@gmail.com to request deletion.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Platform and updating the "Effective Date." For material changes, we will provide at least thirty (30) days' notice before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of the revised Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
